A "rape list" was found in the toilets of a school, listing underage girls who could be targeted and raped.
The shocking list was found in the boys’ toilets of Davis College in Mallow. It featured a list of several girls' names with the words: "The ones with the most ticks is going to get raped".
All the names on the list, which has since been removed, were identified as minors and are all students at the school. Police are now investigating the list after the school alerted them.
This is allegedly the third time such a list has been put up in the school, although a representative for the school said it is only aware of one list.
The school has now launched an internal review to find the person who compiled the list and issue disciplinary action.
Principal Stephen Gilbert said: "The safety and well-being of all of our students is our top priority. We are taking this issue extremely seriously and immediately took steps to address it with both the affected students and student body at large This work is continuing. The list was removed the minute we were notified of its existence and we spoke to each of the young ladies mentioned to answer any questions or concerns they had. We encouraged them – as we encourage all of our students – to come to us with any issues that may be of concern so that we can support them in any way possible."
He added that all students involved and their families are being supported by the school.
